An event all about Native American culture, art, food, and more is on the way to Houston, being organized by the DFW Inter-Tribal Association at Traders Village.
Several hundred First Nations members will be attending the 32nd annual Native American Championship Pow Wow, where dozens of tribes will be represented. Many of the participants will dance in full regalia, with dancers ranging in age from youngsters all the way up to tribal elders.
The dancers will be competing in several categories, and their costumes will provide examples of Native American beadwork and other crafts. Prizes will be awarded, and each day will kick off with live music supplied by Terry Tsotigh. Those who enjoy browsing and buying will be able to purchase handmade items, and authentic First Nations food will be on offer as well. A tipi village will provide an introduction to these and other Forms of portable housing used in days gone by.
With the dancers in events like this often having trained and practiced for some time, Stationery printers will be able to prepare custom designed certificates to present to each competitor to recognize their efforts.
The 32nd annual Native American Championship Pow Wow has been planned for the week of November 13. Traders Village, which is located at 290 North Eldridge, will be the venue for the gathering.
