Eyeful Art and UP Art Studio have teamed up with the Texan-French Alliance for the Arts and the Midtown District, and will present the biggest mural in Houston next month.
‘Preservons La Creation’ will be a celebration of the largest mural ever seen in the city. Sebastien ‘Mr. D’ Boileau, an artist of both French and American origin, is painting a mural of 60 feet in height and comprising 8,000 square feet in area at the Midtown Cultural Arts and Entertainment District. The property is scheduled to be demolished next year and the massive project will no longer exist. This is the condition that inspired the name.
The focal point of the Preservons La Creation project is making the public aware of community art. Connecting business with artistic sectors is the goal of the project.
Beautifying the region of Houston is the objective, as is providing education on various events and classes. Conservation and preservation awareness, along with community outreach efforts are the goals. The project benefits the children’s hospital’s mural project, scheduled for production next year.
