Golfer club together to help cancer patients

The 4th annual Stache Sergeants Movember Golf Tournament and Mustache Competition is taking place at the end of the week in Houston. All proceeds will be donated to Friday Harbour.

November is Men’s Health Awareness Month and the Movember movement encourages men to grow mustaches to publicize it.

Fees for the golf tournament are $125 per person and include the use of caddies, breakfast and lunch. There will also be beer, cigars and a shot station. Mulligans are available for $10 and raffle tickets are also $10. Players will be competing for such titles as Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Hole in One, with winners bagging the Memorial Stache Trophy or a plaque.

Sponsorships are available from $200 up to $5,000, and sponsors will be recognized on signage and in all Print advertising that will probably be provided by a Houston Stationery printing firm. Organizers are also accepting donations for raffle prizes ($50 and over).

Friday Harbour is an organization that helps cancer patients who need to travel to Houston by giving them a place to stay and support. This year’s goal is to raise $20,000.

The Stache Sargeants Movember Golf Tournament will be held at Houston National Golf Club tomorrow, December 1, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For more information or to become a sponsor, call Milam Wentworth at 281-785-0205.
