Famous toy chain returns to the United States

Toys ‘R’ Us is making a comeback in the United States, with a new store to open up in Houston, Texas right before Christmas.

The iconic toy store, with its colorful logo and graphic design that was loved by children all over America for decades, will be opening in the Houston Galleria shopping mall. According to Richard Barry, who was a former executive for Toys R Us, a second location will also be opening in Westfield Garden State Plaza in New Jersey. Barry went on to state:

“With a 70-year heritage, the Toys R Us brand is beloved by kids and families around the world, and continues to play a leading role in the hearts and minds of today’s consumers.”

This return is surprising because Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy two years ago. All 735 stores in the United States were forced to shut down, however close to 800 stores around the world are still open. The company’s comeback involves a new retail model that aims to be more interactive for parents and children alike. A new online experience will be aided by new partnerships with companies such as b8ta.

Executives from b8ta believe that Toys R Us can remain a successful brand because children still want to play with the latest toys, and the store can adapt to changes in trends.
