Event will support area animal shelters

The 11th Houston PetSet Soiree is being held next month, hosted by All Houston PetSet, an organization that provides grants to nonprofit animal shelters and rescues.

This year, the event is honoring Jan Duncan, who is the widow of Dan Duncan. The Duncans were well known for their philanthropy. Their donations made it possible for Texas Children's Hospital to open its Neurological Research Institute.

Guests will be served a variety of food and cocktails. There will be dancing, live and silent auctions, and a raffle. The raffle is for a Cartier watch worth $10,800, and tickets are $100 each or $500 for six. They will also be treated to an appearance by Bretagne, the last surviving search and rescue dog from 9/11.

Tickets for the soiree are $250 for a limited number or $500. Tables for 10 can be purchased from $3,000 up to $50,000.

Organizers of this fundraising event sent out printed Invitations to those who had helped the organization in the past. No doubt these were obtained from a Houston printing company that may or may not have mailed them out directly.

The Houston PetSet Soiree will be held at The Astorian on September 11 beginning at 7:00 pm. To find out more about this event and how to purchase tickets, call 832-303-0270.
