The Texas Zydeco and Blues Fest is taking place towards the end of the month in Houston.
The festival is a tribute to zydeco music, which originally came from Louisiana and was played by the Creoles. Most songs are accordion-based but, unlike polka music, it sounds more like the blues.
Some of the top Zydeco acts will be featured at this year's festival including Keith Frank and the Soileau Zydeco Band, Annika Chambers, and Curtis Poullard and the Creole Zydeco Band. There will also be DJs, such as DJ Jack Frost. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
In addition to the music, there will be food and drink concessions; drinks like daiquiris and margaritas will be available to those over the age of 21.
VIP tickets are available for $80 and $125. The $80 package is the Souvenir pack and includes a T-shirt and access to a private bar. For $125, guests will receive a T-shirt, one drink ticket, and preferential access to the stage.
Houston Stationery printers often help advertise events like this by providing items such as Flyers and Posters.
The festival will be held at McGregor Park on September 28 from 1:00 to 11:00 PM. General admission tickets are $16 per person. For more information, go to the event’s Facebook page.
