The 21st annual Parrot Festival is taking place next month in Houston for three days. It is a presentation of the National Parrot Rescue and Preservation Foundation.
The festival is for pet-owners, students and professionals. It will feature seminars, workshops and social events.
There will be several expert speakers on hand such as Dr. Natalie Antinoff who will discuss avian health, Lara Joseph who will talk about behavior, and Simon Kiacz of the Tejana Parrot Project.
Attendees can also sign up for Parrots 101, a series of full and micro-sessions led by Robin Shewokis. It is free for attendees and students or $50 for members of the public. They can also attend the luncheon workshop, Parrot Toy University, where guests will learn how to make their own bird toys. Tickets for this event are $45.
There will also be a Saturday night banquet, a Party in Parrot-dise and daily raffles.
Vendors will be on hand to sell parrot-related merchandise and various parrot organizations will be providing information.
When events like this are planned for Houston, local Stationery printers are often asked to provide advertising materials like Flyers or Brochures.
The festival will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel Houston International Airport from January 24 to 26. Fees are $165 for the public, $70 for vets and zoo personnel, and $35 for students. Visit the event website for the latest news.
