Wine event stomps back into Grapevine
Touted as the Southwest’s biggest wine festival, Grapefest will be returning to Grapevine in mid-September.
Every year, Grapevine celebrates Texas wines through wine experiences and various other events during Grapefest. Though themed around wine, this will be a family-friendly event with a carnival and midway, as well as a Kidzone located in Napoli’s Lot.
Some of the experiences will include Champagne Terrace, the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic, Liberty Park Plaza Wine Experience, the Rose Gazebo, and Grapevine’s Urban Wine Trail, which features daily wine tastings.
The annual Grapestomp will be located at Main St. and Wall St. Teams of two people get two minutes to stomp 18 pounds of grapes. Those producing the most juice will qualify for the Grand Championship StompOff, vying for the coveted Purple Foot Award. Entry fee is $5 per person.
Many guests will be competing in The Champagne Cork Shoot-off, located on the Main Stage at Main Steet and Franklin. Prizes will go to the highest point shooter for each session each day, and winners will be entered in Sunday’s Grand Shoot-Off finals.
Towns that hold events such as this usually have pictures taken to local print shops to be included in the town’s visitor guides, especially for annual events that can be promoted year after year.
Grapefest will be held Thursday, September 14 through Sunday, September 17.
