Grapevine offers pair of fall activities

Grapevine Parks and Recreation will present its Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day and a Pumpkin Fest, both beginning in early October.

Activities on the Take a Kid Mountain Bike Riding Day will include guided rides on scenic trails, connecting with other mountain bicycling enthusiasts. Those interested will need to bring their bicycles, gear, and helmets. It will be on Saturday, October 4 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Horseshoe Trailhead McPherson Slough Park, 2500 Catfish Lane.

Fall festivities are awaiting attendees at this year's Pumpkinfest. There will be a pumpkin patch with all types and sizes of the orange gourds available for purchase. Everyone will want to go on the Spooky Trail Walk through the park.

Autumnal snacks will be available for purchase, and a local artisan market will offer fall-themed items and handcrafted goods. Live music, entertainment, and seasonal activities will add to community fun, with plenty of photo opportunities along the way. Stationery printers often use pictures from events like this on their fall card collections.

Meadowmere Park, located at 3000 Meadowmere Lane, will begin this year's Pumpkinfest on Sunday, October 3. It will continue on Fridays and Saturdays from then until Sunday, October 19. Even though the event hours will be 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, the admission gate will close at 8:00 pm. Admission will be $20 per car and $40 per bus.
