Grapevine ugly dogs invited to contest

All ugly dogs here in Grapevine and their owners are invited to Woofie's 1st Annual Ugly Dog Contest coming in early June.

The festivities have been organized as a fundraiser for the Grapevine Animal Services.

Live music will be provided by the Rodger Delaney Band playing Power Pop and Alternative Rock and Brian Shuck & the Local Legends playing popular and original country music.

Early bird entry will be $20 per dog and $30 per dog on event day. Dogs must be 6 months old or older, have current rabies vaccinations, be neutered or spayed, healthy and under control by owners at least 18 years old. Dogs will be judged on charm, personality, appearance, crowd appeal and memorability.

Grand prize will be $250, photo on Woofie's grooming van, a professional photo shoot and winner recognition item. Runner up will receive $100, and winner recognition item such as a ribbon or trophy. Other awards will include $100 prizes for Crowd Favorite, Best Personality and Best Costume.

Winners of contests like this often have Print shops put pictures taken at the event into family newsletters.

Local vendors will be selling dog-related items and general merchandise.

Four Sponsorships levels ($100, $300, $750, $1500) will be available offering support for the Grapevine Animal Shelter, connection with Grapevine pet-loving families, and providing visibility to the community.

Woofie's First Annual Ugly Dog Contest 20256 will take place June 6th from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Hotel Vin's Peace Plaza, 215 E Dallas Road.
