Women on the run this winter

The second race of the ‘women’s only’ three race series Bruises and Bandages has been scheduled in Georgetown for after the holidays.

The event takes the races on fun trails throughout the Russell Park area. Enjoying the scenic landscape is part of the excitement for the participants, and water stops will be available throughout the route.

The Women on the Trails Race series consists of a different type of racing venue for women, whether they are new or experienced runners. The first three women crossing the finish line will receive awards. The event is not chip timed.

Participants preferring to enjoy the scenery rather than race are encouraged to take their time and complete the course at a leisurely place.

There will be a 5K, 10K, and half marathon runs available, and participants can choose whichever fits their desires. Enrollees will receive a T-shirt for the race and will be rewarded with a pancake breakfast at its conclusion.

Banner printing is a generally a focus for organizers, as they are used for directional signage for the convenience of the runners.

Registration packet will take place at Luke’s Locker in Austin on January 16 from 11:00 am -7:00 pm. On race day, the packet pick-up and registration will be available at Russell Park at Lake Georgetown from 7:00 am to 8:45 am.
