Those who enjoy wine can attend an annual celebration in March at Georgetown Square.
The Georgetown Swirl is a community activity that invites people to browse local retailers while checking out food and wine vendors. Those who attend the event will get a commemorative tasting glass that can be used for sampling wine at the participating restaurants. Guests will receive up to ten wine samples during the experience. The event is organized by the Georgetown Main Street Program and will benefit local businesses.
Proceeds from the wine tasting experience will be used to support the Georgetown Main Street Facade & Sign Grant Program. The money from this program helps local businesses make their storefronts look aesthetically pleasing and also pays for things like fire suppression systems, foundation work, and ADA improvements. Stores that apply for the program are reviewed on a points-based system that looks into factors like building location and historical significance.
The Georgetown Swirl will be held on Saturday, March 7th from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. General admission tickets for the wine experience will cost $64.09 per person. Guests will also get a special map for the event. Those who attend can dress in a Sweet 16 theme for the celebration. Towns that host fundraising events like this can depend on poster printing to improve local awareness for their activities.
