Pastel art class available in Georgetown

The Williamson County Art Guild (WCAG) is hosting a mini workshop on pastels this summer.

As a volunteer-run, non-profit organization, the WCAG is focused on community outreach, supporting local artists by putting on art exhibits and shows throughout the year and providing art education in the form of unique workshops, classes, and presentations.

Run by instructor Clara Johns, a retired art teacher, The Joys of Pastels is a hands-on class for both beginner and intermediate artists. It will explore various techniques for using pastels, first offering step-by-step instruction and then dedicating time for attendees to focus on their individual work.

The Joys of Pastels workshop will be held on Saturday, August 15 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at The Nest, 2201 Old Airport Road in Georgetown. It costs $100 to join. Included in the price is all of the supplies used in the class, as well as a small set of pastels that attendees will be able to take home with them afterwards.

All proceeds made and donations given to the Williamson County Art Guild go towards their educational and charitable enterprises, helping further art interest within the community and ensuring that local artists continue to thrive.

Organizations like this often rely on local shops for brochure printing in order to advertise their upcoming events to the community.
