Georgetown class crafts indoor mini-gardens

Terrariums offer a way to bring nature indoors, and a Georgetown workshop will teach how to craft one of these miniature gardens that should look great for a long time to come.

ATX Terrariums’ Jonathan will be partnering with Root to Rise Plant Shop to share his skills and knowledge in a terrarium building class. It will be a hands-on session, and the techniques used can be utilized to build other dish-style plantings as well.

The attendees in the session will be walked through the steps of crafting their project, and there will be expert help provided along the way. Everyone will learn how to choose plants that do well together, and building the soil, selecting a suitable container, and accessories will all be discussed.

Participants can choose from a large or small planter, and all of the materials needed are included in the ticket price. The class will be held outside, so may need to be rescheduled in case of bad weather.

A learning session may call for printed handouts of information, and Stationery printers will be happy to lend a hand. They can supply a variety of options, and they are a popular choice with small businesses.

This introduction to the art and science of crafting a mini container garden will be on offer on Thursday, October 2, beginning at 6:00 pm. The location will be 1005 Rock Street.
