Weekend-long festival returns to Georgetown

Georgetown’s Red Poppy Festival is returning to Downtown this spring.

The event, spanning three days on a weekend in late April, will feature artisan booths, food vendors from local chefs, live music, a walkable space through Town Square to explore the sights, and even a dance floor.

Duo Maddie and Tae will headline the main musical event, with an opening performance by Jade Eagleson. Three stages are set to be filled with live performances during the festival, serving as free concerts for attendees.

The festival begins on a Friday, but truly comes into its own on Saturday with the Poppy Parade and Car Show, followed by the aforementioned musical performances. A Fun Zone is also available for children, featuring craft activities. Festivals like this may choose to use banner printing to create Signs for parking, vendors, and bands.

The Red Poppy Festival is happening from April 24 to 26 in Downtown Georgetown near the library. Though parking will be limited at the main event site, there will be shuttle buses with pickup locations from East View and Georgetown High Schools. There are also parking sites at the City parking garage at 502 S. Austin Ave, the Williamson County parking garage at Rock and Fourth streets, as well as other public parking lots near the Monument Cafe and on Martin Luther King Jr. Street and West Eighth.
