The 8th annual Classic Game Fest is coming to Central Texas for two days later this month. It is a convention dedicated to retro video games. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Dell Children's Medical Center Foundation.
This annual event usually attracts approximately 4,500 game fans from all over, including nearby Texas cities like Georgetown. To help spread the word, organizers have likely invested in flyer or poster printing services.
The weekend will be filled with video game tournaments, costume contests and shopping. Those attending can bring their own games to sell and trade or they can buy new games, Posters, videos, Books, and autographed photographs. Among the special guest stars who will be appearing at this year's convention are Richard Garriott, Starr Long, and Ernest Cline. There will be musical performances from groups such as The Returners and Juice Lee and video character costume contests.
Visitors can also check out the classic video game museum to try out old games they remember, or discover one they have never seen before.
The Classic Game Fest will be held at the Palmer Event Center in Austin from July 25 to 26. Tickets are $20 for the weekend or $10 for Sunday only, and children aged 12 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
