Spaces available in Georgetown zoonosis conference

A conference focused on zoonoses, or diseases that can spread from animals to humans, has been organized for Georgetown by Texas Health and Human Services.

It will explore many facets of the relationship between people and animals from a public health perspective, and continuing education credits may be available for those who participate.

The one-day symposium will include presentations from an assortment of speakers, and there is free parking on site. It will be held in the Georgetown Public Safety Operations and Training Center, and along with the learning, it will give the delegates a chance to meet others in their professional field.

Those who work in the area of animals control may find that the Compassion Fatigue and Canine and Feline Communication seminars offer them useful skills and knowledge. The Director/Co-Founder of Austin Bat Refuge will also facilitate a presentation, which is titled Peaceful Coexistence with Bats. Breaks have been scheduled in both the morning and afternoon, and these can be opportunities for the attendees to meet and get to know one another.

By giving the participants in an event like this a chance to sharpen their skills, it can help to create a community where all creatures are welcome. Corporate Gifts can be prepared for this sort of function by local Print shops.

July 24 has been chosen to be the date for this learning opportunity for those who work in the field of animal control and urban wildlife management. It will begin at 8:00 am.
