Georgetown walk to make life brighter for those living with Alzheimers disease

Georgetown individuals and families who have been touched by Alzheimer’s disease or other Forms of dementia, as well as the general public, are invited to count themselves in for an event that will help support the works of Alzheimer’s Texas.

For the past 10 years, the Williamson County Walk has brought the community together, and all of the monies they raise remain in the local area, funding projects and other activities. The organizers of this year’s walk have set a fundraising goal of $70,000, and it is counting on the community to help reach that number. Even if people can’t participate in person, they can still make a difference by donating to the cause, and all assistance will be appreciated.

Registration for the Williamson County Walk is now open, and those who sign up can start signing in on the day of the activity starting at 8:30 am. There will be an opening ceremony before the participants begin, and the planners explained that as a thank you to those who have taken time from their busy day to get involved, there will be an assortment of Corporate Gifts that will be presented to those who reach certain fundraising levels.

This chance to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine while making life a little bit brighter for those living with Alzheimer’s disease will be held on September 19. The activity will be taking place in San Gabriel Park.
