Georgetown to kick off holiday shopping season with special event

Georgetown’s small businesses help to keep the local economy going strong, and to celebrate the role they play in the community, a special shopping party has been planned.

The city has put together an activity that will showcase its smaller enterprises. It will take place in the downtown area, and will encourage the public to explore what their commercial community has to offer them.

The event, which has been dubbed ‘Shop Small Business Saturday’, will begin at 10:00 am. Shoppers can head to the Georgetown Visitors Center to pick up their Shop Small Promotional Products as well as a printed map of all the locations that will be participating. They will also be issued a bingo card, and can catch some social media worthy photos of all the fun.

At each of the participating businesses, the public can have their bingo card stamped, and at the end of the day, they may just be the lucky winner of a special prize. The planners have created a gift basket that will be filled local art and Gift Certificates for area eateries. The occasion has been organized through support from the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Georgetown Association.

This opportunity to discover what makes Georgetown a great place to live, work, shop, and play will be held on November 30. Anyone who requires additional details has been asked to call 512-930-2027.
