Georgetown schedules 4th of July celebration

This July 4th, Georgetown will be joining with cities, towns, and other communities all across the nation in wishing the USA a happy birthday.

Locals are invited to show their pride in their nation when they attend the activities on offer in the city to help celebrate the day. Financial support has been provided by Georgetown Sertoma Club and also the city itself.

The fun will kick off in the morning in San Gabriel Park, where there will be live entertainment. The function will offer a festival-style atmosphere complete with games, vendor tables, arts and crafts, food, beer and wine stations, a car show, a petting zoo, and carnival-style rides. All ages are welcome, and at 9:30 pm, the day will be capped off with a huge fireworks display.

Admission to the function will be free of charge, but there may be a fee for some of the rides and other activities. A parade is in the works as well. Many large events feature Banners that welcome the crowd, and these can be prepared by a banner printing company.

The city of Georgetown will be showing its patriotic side on July 4 itself, which this year falls on a Thursday. The city’s website offers a full description of the day, including timings, parking tips, and the streets closed off to accommodate the festivities.
