Drive-in movies may be old hat, but Georgetown is set to offer an event that will provide a twist on this popular activity.
The city’s Parks and Recreation Department has organized a “dive in” movie for one of its pools, and the picture screened will be family friendly. There's enough space to accommodate up to 150 swimmers, and advance registration is mandatory to participate.
The movie that has been chosen for the evening is “Lilo and Stitch”, and tickets are $3.00 each for those age 3 and under. Younger children will be admitted free of charge. While pool noodles are welcome, other flotation devices will not be permitted, and anyone under 17 will need to be accompanied by an adult. The doors will open at 8:00 pm, with the film set to start at dusk. The Williams Drive Pool will be the location for this aquatic activity.
Many communities offer outdoor movie nights during the summer months, and these come in many styles, from pool parties to screenings hosted in parks or other venues. A poster printing company will be pleased to help market a function by preparing promotional materials to post for the public to view.
This “dive in” movie will hit the screen on July 26th. Anyone who would like to find out more can do so on the city’s website.
