Georgetown cookie sale for grown ups only

Selling cookies as a fundraiser has become a tradition for members of the American Girl Scouts. An evening is on the horizon for Georgetown that will take a typical cookie sale and add a “grown up” twist, and the monies raised will be utilized by the organization to provide some upgrades to the local scout house.

A selection of businesses in the community have lent their support to the ‘Cookie Crawl’, and they will be welcoming ticket holders throughout the evening of the function. Many will be offering extended opening hours for the occasion, and the registration fee has been set at $35.

The registrants are asked to arrive for check in starting at 5:15 pm, and this will take place at Sincerely Yours 1848. Once they have signed in, the ticket holders will receive a specially crafted wine glass that includes a unique graphic design created for the occasion. They can use this to sample pour of wine at up to six of the participating businesses.

Along with the wine, cookies will be served at each of the stops on the crawl. While they enjoy their snack, the attendees can browse through each of the shops and find out what they have to offer.

This new twist on an old idea will be taking place in Georgetown on May 9. The planners noted that it is intended for those age 21 and over.
