After 141 years the Austin-based Lammes Candies announced in April it would be closing but it was recently revealed that the company was purchased by Delightful Development in conjunction with the Lammes family.
For the foreseeable future the return of Lammes’ candies will be limited to online purchasing as this spring the company’s building was sold to another Austin developer. Currently there is no indication that any portion of the company will be moved to Fort Worth.

Wilkie-Kinne and Cavileer led the way in the revitalization of the iconic Fort Worth Stockyards part of which was the redevelopment of Hotel Drover and Mule Alley. Wilkie-Kinne in speaking about the recent acquisition said:
“Our vision isn’t to change what Lammes’ Candies is known for. It’s to bring back the legacy recipes, traditions and heritage that made Lammes so special for 141 years. It’s a significant piece of Texas history that Craig and I will honor, preserve and celebrate with future generations of Texans and customers around the country.”
Preorders began on September 29; shipping nationwide is set to commence November 1. Although a brick-and-mortar store has not been announced, a fuller relaunch will take place in spring 2027.
