The German company HARTING, an industrial connector manufacturer is considering constructing a new multi-phased facility in Fort Worth that would employ over 700 and cost $192.7 million.
Ever since the German company established its presence in this country in 1986, HARTIING has had its U.S. headquarters in Elgin, Illinois. Irving is just one of several possible cities vying to replace Elgin. If HARTING chooses Fort Worth the new facility would be in the vicinity of Interstate 20 and Wichita Street. The new campus would include corporate offices, space for manufacturing, and cable assembly productions.
The arrival of a new company offers numerous opportunities for local businesses including Print shops, particularly banner printing services.
Its proposal which was made public at Fort Worth City Council’s work session on September 1 specified that the company would by December 2031 invest a minimum of $192.7 million. Moreover, by December 2034 it will create no less than 700 full-time jobs with an average annual salary of $87,000, which would be more than recent comparable proposals the city has pursued.
The company envisions a campus of three buildings covering a total manufacturing space of 700,000 square feet as well as creating a total of 189 corporate and technical jobs.
For its part, the city of Fort Worth has offered a 10-year tax abatement, waiving a maximum of 65 percent of HARTING's business and real property taxes as s authorized under the Texas Tax Code – Chapter 312.
