Preparations made for May merriment

The largest party in Fort Worth, Mayfest, brings four days of celebration to see in the start of summer, and its 2015 itinerary has been confirmed.

Included in the festivities will be special food, performing arts, carnival rides, pet adoptions, and race competitions. The event is held on Fort Worth’s Trinity Park’s 33 acres.

Produced by Mayfest, Inc., the proceeds from the festival benefit community programs, including The City of Fort Worth Parks and Community Services. Mayfest has proudly reported giving back more than $6.65m to Fort Worth and the citizens within.

A USATF-certified running race schedule consisting of a 5K, 10K, and 1K Fun Run is part of the activities. The 1K run is designed for children.

More than 60 art and gift vendors will have hundreds of items on display for sale. The vendors frequently work with local Print companies in the preparation of supplies needed for exhibits and festivals. Projects such as banner printing can easily be handled by a qualified printer. The Banners are typically used by vendors in their booths to display the company name and products.

A unique activity is the paddleboats, which were part of the event years ago and were then stopped. By popular demand, the organizers purchased a set of paddleboats for the 2014 festival. Organizers assure attendees that the boats will return for the 2015 event, which will be held April 30 to May 3.
