Blackland Distillery will be holding the first annual MarCUREitas + Fajitas party this June to help support Fort Worth’s Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Coalition.
MarCUREitas + Fajitas is an event that invites the community to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day with a charitable gathering. The festival aims to spread awareness for all cancers in people ages 15 to 39. Blackland Distillery and Mercado Juarez are the founding sponsors for the event and will be providing the food and beverages for the party. The festival will feature live music from J.D. Cobb, caricatures, and fun games. Groups that create parties like this can use flyer printing to make mailable ads to promote the event.
The Fort Worth AYA Oncology Coalition opened an AYA cancer inpatient unit in 2016 to address the medical and psychological needs of people living in the community. The facility provides those impacted by cancer a home of empowerment, helping young people navigate the barriers that come with a cancer diagnosis. There are several amenities offered by the unit, like a lounge, games room, cocoon room, and kitchen.
MarCUREitas + Fajitas will be held on Sunday, June 7 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Regular admission will cost $40, and those who are under 18 can buy tickets for $15 instead. Prices for cancer survivors will also be $15. Anyone interested in helping Fort Worth’s AYA Oncology Coalition can donate online.
