Fort Worth theater to host film festival

The Grand Berry Theater in Fort Worth will be holding a film festival in September to showcase works created by independent and international filmmakers.

The Longhorn Film Festival is an event promoting movies created by talented directors with limited budgets. This year, the program will include categories such as Narrative Feature Film, Student Short Film, and Documentary Short Film. Filmmakers may also win awards for their submitted pieces, like Best of Show and Best Texas Film. There will be a networking party during the film festival to let attendees connect. People who participate in activities such as this may bring Business Cards to trade their contact info with other event-goers.

Each feature-length film submitted to the festival will run from 90 to 120 minutes, while the short movies will be under 12 minutes in length. Directors are allowed to submit multiple entries to the event. Filmmakers nominated for an award are encouraged to attend the event’s award ceremony since the prizes will not be mailed to the winners. All international films submitted to the program will either be in English or have English subtitles.

The film festival will occur on September 19 from noon to 8:00 pm. Guests can purchase screening passes for $12, and VIP admission to the event will cost $20. People interested in attending the show must buy their passes before September 17. Sales will open to the public on July 16.
