The GM Financial Fort Worth Parade of Lights helps to usher in the holiday season.
Over 100 brightly lit floats will advance through downtown Fort Worth this November during the popular parade. The event begins at Throckmorton and Weatherford Streets and ends at 3rd street for a 1.59-mile route.
Anyone attending the parade can bring a small unwrapped toy to donate to area children in need. The Cowboy Santas collect all toy donations prior to the start of the parade. Since 1981, the non-profit organization has distributed gifts to children in low-income Tarrant County families during the Christmas season.
Special activities take place throughout the downtown area on the day of the parade, with many restaurants and other businesses offering specials. Local businesses that want to take part in the parade can plan for the 2019 event. The organizers accept applications from June to September for what is an opportunity to get attention through a float or with Promotional Products from the tens of thousands of spectators that attend the event.
The parade is on November 18th at 6:00 PM and will take about 40 minutes for each participant to complete. Santa will arrive around 7:10 PM and begin meeting children along the route. Attendance is free, and seating is available for $12.95 to $29.95 per ticket, depending on the location. Seniors and children 12 and under are eligible for discounts. The organizers suggest that all attendees with seat tickets arrive before 4:30 pm to enable them to reach their seat before the crowd arrives.
