Fort Worth celebrates the American cowboy

The National Day of the American Cowboy will be celebrated this July in Fort Worth.

On the evening before, the Hall of Fame Rodeo will take place at the Cowtown Coliseum beginning at 7:00 AM. Tickets are $30 for boxed seats, $20 for general admission, and $15 for children aged 12 and under.

The day itself will offer plenty of free activities, a parade, karaoke, buckaroo coloring, and cowboy demonstrations. There will also be contests in cow-chip throwing, watermelon eating, seed spitting, and barbecue rib eating.

In addition, the National Multicultural Western Heritage Museum will be hosting the Dr. W. Marvin Dulancy Western Heritage Symposium. This free event will feature a variety of speakers on the history of the American cowboy.

Later in the evening, it will also host the Hall of Fame induction, into which nine people are set to be inducted this year. It will begin with a VIP reception at 6:00 pm and will be followed by dinner and the awards, with tickets priced at $150 each. To learn more about either event, call 817-922-9999.

No doubt this event will attract lots of attention from Fort Worth residents. Local Print companies may be asked to provide signage and Posters to let residents know about the day's events.
