A recent press release announced that Qatar Airways Cargo will be establishing a new regularly scheduled freight route between the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport and Liege, Belgium twice a week.
Later this month Qatar Airways Cargo will join the other 17 air cargo carriers currently flying from DFW Airport to major cargo hubs around the world. The Airport is the acknowledged premier inland cargo hub for the US. Of air cargo originating in Texas, 60% is handled by DFW.
Qatar Airways Cargo’s Chief Officer, Ulrich Ogiermann, pointed out the following in the press release:
"The US is a very important market for Qatar Airways Cargo and Dallas/Fort Worth is strategically well placed to give us further reach into the region."
Qatar Airways’ passenger flights already provide an export cargo capacity of 400 metric tons per month, which will increase to 1,000 metric tons per month with the addition of the new dedicated freighter service.
Thanks to the increased connectivity, numerous Dallas and Fort Worth companies will be extending their markets and sending their Letterheads out to more potential customers. With the addition of Qatar Airways Cargo, the DFW catchment area shippers will have a connection to more than 150 destinations along their global network.
DFW serves 63 million Flyers per year and is considered one of the world’s most frequently used superhub airports, with 149 domestic flights and 57 nonstop international destinations. The new service will be available as of January 19.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Letterheads
