North Texas goes Irish

Once again, the North Texas Irish Festival (NTIF) will be held at Fair Park in Dallas, with 2024 being the festival’s 42nd year.

This year, the family-friendly event known for its celebration of Irish music, dance, storytelling, art, food, spirits, and culture will carry the theme of “Circle of Life,” which in Celtic-style art is represented by the tree of life. Attendees will have 10 stages featuring chef demonstrations, Irish step dancing, live music, and more both outdoors and indoors.

Also available to attendees will be shopping opportunities, sheepherding demonstrations, horse shows, and animal rescue groups. Those who are 21 and older can avail themselves of beer and whiskey tasting. For the younger set, special child-friendly entertainment will be offered, along with arts and crafts.

The three-day festival starts off with the bang of a starter pistol for the North Texas Irish Festival Fun Run. Those who take part in the non-timed 5K fun run will receive a “bottle opener” medal, a T-shirt, and a ticket to the festival. Those runners of legal drinking age will be given credits for two beers as well. The Irish Festival Fun Run will benefit the Southwest Celtic Music Association and Fair Park First.

The North Texas Irish Festival begins on Friday, March 1 at 6:00 pm, and opens at 10:30 am on March 2, and 11:30 am on March 3, with ticket prices ranging from $10 to $45.
