Dallas is slated to get its own Asian fusion concept restaurant later this year.
The Japanese-Spanish fusion eatery, Salvaje, which has several locations throughout the world, was founded by Fermin Azkue, an international chef of some renown. His latest Salvaje location will be on the 17Seventeen building’s ground floor. The space at 1717 McKinney Avenue was vacated by Stampede 66 when it closed in 2018. Plans for a Salvaje at the location started over a year ago but only recently has progress been made on construction.
The menu, made up of an innovative mix of Latin influences on Japanese cuisine, was gleaned from Azkue’s experience. Diners will find a raw bar, sushi and fire-grilled items such as bluefin tuna belly and salmon in a robata section. Salvaje’s signature dish is lamb shank with teriyaki sauce and lobster dumplings, crispy wonton, and Brussel salsa ki. Wine, sake, Japanese whisky, beer, and mocktails will be available, as will unique cocktails served in a whimsical fashion, such as inside a horn or skull cup.
Print shops can be instrumental in building brand awareness for new eateries via menu designs.
Décor details for the new restaurant have not been released; however, if other Salvaje locations are any indication, a huge bronze rhino sculpture may be on hand. Other elements common to the chain are multiple rooms and experiences to accommodate millennial diners who often become bored with remaining stationary.
Salvaje’s Dallas opening is scheduled for late 2024.
