The first parent teacher association (PTA) of its kind in Texas, supporting early childhood education, is planning what ts anticipates to be a major fundraising event.
The Rosemont Early Childhood PTA (RECPTA) is sponsoring ‘La Noche En Havana’, an homage to Havana, Cuba. The organization was founded in 1926 to promote a sense of community among parents and benefit the education of local children.
RECPTA has planned an evening highlighted with authentic, live cigar rolling, hors d’oeuvres, a PhotoBus, and a wine pull. Additionally, a DJ will be onsite and attendees will have the opportunity to “rock the night away” on the dance floor between placing bids in auctions.
Many unique items will be on hand for bidding. Businesses providing these items gain a variety of promotional benefits, including those attained from asking their printing company to mention their support of RECPTA in their advertisements.
Proceeds from RECPTA’s largest fundraiser for 2016 will be used to back primary, elementary, and middle school programs in Dallas’ Oak Cliff area. The event is being held at the Empire Room, which is located in Dallas at 1225 N. Riverfront Blvd.
La Noche En Havana takes place Friday, April 1 at 7:30 pm and ticket prices are $60 at the door and $50 in advance. Any donations are tax deductible.
