Encina Dallas among finalists in Quest for Texas Best

The grocery chain H-E-B has finished its “Quest for Texas Best”, its annual search for the top products produced in the Lone Star State, and a Dallas brand was included among the top four products.

Encino Dallas, an Oak Cliff restaurant garnered third place for its famous Blue Corn Butterscotch flavored Pancake Mix, earning it $10,000 in prize money and the opportunity to place their product on H-E-B shelves. The only restaurant to make the list, Encina’s blue corn pancakes are among its weekend brunch’s most popular menu items.

H-E-B has held the competition for 11 years, offering a total of $70,000 in prize money along with the opportunity for shelf space in its Texas stores. The 2024 competition netted H-E-B 470 videos from entrepreneurs. H-E-B diversity & inclusion and supplier diversity senior director James Harris stated:

Birria Queen was awarded the grand prize, $25,000 for the company’s birria seasoning bombs. Hess Street Foods took first place, $20,000, for its chorizo flavored seasoning paste and the second-place prize of $15,000 was given to Certified Country Lemonade for its frozen lemonades and iced teas.
