Moving container company PODS has put together a ranking of destination cities of its customers from January 2021 through March of this year, and Dallas-Fort Worth features prominently.
The nationwide results show Sarasota, Florida coming in first, with DFW hot on its heels in second.
In addition to the obvious appeal projected by DFW, the state of Texas as a whole has made a good showing, with several of its major metro areas placing high in the rankings. Houston came in at No. 12, with San Antonio following at No. 13, and Austin not too far behind in the No. 16 slot.
Real estate agencies normally work closely with Print shops, especially when producing studies like this one.
According to PODS, the reason Texas has been able to garner four top-20 positions on the 2021-2022 list is easy to ascertain. Texas offers no state income tax, a cost of living that is relatively low, access to nature, plenty of wide-open spaces, and an abundance of sunshine.
When looking at where are people moving from, the answer is mainly from the East and West Coasts with the largest number coming from the likes of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Central New Jersey, Long Island, Philadelphia, and the Stockton-Modesto, California area.
Employers choosing to keep remote working policies in place could be the catalyst for movement away from these areas and toward areas with either a higher quality of life or a lower cost of living.
