A movement to match medical professionals who need to self-isolate to protect their families with those willing to loan campers, trailers or RVs has been started by a Dallas doctor’s wife.
Emily Phillips’ Facebook group, "RVs 4 MDs to fight the Corona Virus", caught on quickly. In its first four days her group garnered 1,100 members and made around two dozen matches across the country, with requests being made by doctors, ICU nurses, and even an ER security guard.
Phillips came up with the idea when brainstorming a way to keep her own family safe from accidental exposure to the virus via her husband Jason, a medical doctor. She and one of the couple’s three children have asthma, putting them in a high-risk group.
Turning to a rental or hotel room were not feasible, but an RV on the family’s land was. After receiving more than one offer from a Facebook request for the loan of an RV, she created the "RVs 4 MDs" Facebook Group.
As the virus changes life in the U.S., Promotional Products designed to keep a company’s name in front of the public may change as well, with quarantine-inspired items being provided.
Her Facebook group may be a lifesaver for healthcare workers with vulnerable family members, such as a spouse or child with a pre-existing condition or grandparents living with the family.
