Those moving to Dallas, as well as those already here but looking for a new house, have around a one in four chance of finding themselves in a house built this century.
According to a recent report by Homes.com, when it comes to newer homes, 23.5% of homes listed for sale in Dallas were built after 1999, putting the city at No. 17. Austin was 4th with 34.6% and Houston 8th with 29.3%
The top three positions on the list went to New Orleans, Raleigh, and Nashville, Tennessee with 40.8%, 38.4%, and 35.4% percent of new home listings respectively.
Realtors sometimes employ the services of brochure printing shops to help them move their high-end listings. A house’s interior and exterior displayed in a color brochure make it easier for prospective buyers to compare houses.
Some Lone Star State cities are likely to remain near the top of newer home listings with the National Association of Home Builders revealing that 48,208 permits were issued in 2020 for new-home construction, which was more than anywhere in the United States. Dallas-Fort Worth came in second with 43,884 and Austin ranked No. 5 with 21,653.
The incredible demand for new houses was reflected in last month’s new home sales, speed of sales, and average home prices over the previous month. Moreover, the three-month moving average in DFW for “days on market” fell from last year’s 102 days to 67 days.
