Named ProPutt, this Topgolf game allows players to swing, play and putt their way across a virtual golf course with a group of friends or players from across the globe. With the Oculus Quest headset on, the player can have the experience of having a putter in their hands.
The game is the result of a partnership between Topgolf Media and Golf Scope. Topgolf Entertainment Group is Topgolf Media’s parent company, while Golf Scope is a technology and entertainment company in Austin focused on using augmented and virtual reality to grow the game of golf.
Ryan Engle, CEO and founder of Golf Scope, praised what Topgolf has done for golf this way:
"It has made it fun and approachable and introduced the game to a lot of people that wouldn't otherwise be interested."
Companies sometimes find it advisable to add the name of their foremost product to their business card to increase the branding effect.
The company’s Toptracer ball-tracing technology at its venues has revolutionized the way major TV golf tournaments are watched by viewers, according to a release from Engle.
The Oculus Quest store, where games for the VR gaming headset Oculus Quest are sold, sells downloads of Pro Putt by Topgolf for $19.99.
