Dallas ranked high in 2021 housing market predictions

Dallas-Fort Worth is anticipated to be 2021’s sixth hottest housing market in the country, according to experts in the field.

Economists, investment strategists, and real-estate experts responding to the Q4 2020 Zillow Home Price Expectations Survey indicate their belief that DFW will significantly surpass the national housing market’s sales average.

Pulsenomics, an independent research company, was responsible for the report, which includes predictions for growth in home values in 2021 for the nation’s largest markets.

More than half (54%) of real-estate experts say they think that DFW will outperform the home-value-growth average for the country, resulting in a ranking of No.6 among the hottest housing markets. Predicted to outstrip DFW were Denver, Colorado in the No. 5 spot, Tampa, Florida at the No. 4 position, and Nashville, Tennessee and Phoenix, Arizona in the No. 3 and No 2. Spots respectively. Top of the lot is expected to be Austin.

According to the Zillow report, it is mostly cities in the Sun Belt that are predicted to perform better than the nation’s average housing growth this year.

A senior economist for Zillow, Jeff Tucker, has referred to Sun Belt cities as “migration magnets.” He further mentioned in a release that a combination of a growing demand for living space, the surge of millennials buying their first home, and a record-low mortgage rates will, for the conceivable future, maintain pressure on home prices.
