Dallas has new regional USPTO office

According to a press release, additional offices of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) are being added to provide outreach services to entrepreneurs and inventors in eight states, one of which is Texas.

Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property Michelle K. Lee, who is also the director of USPTO, took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony on November 9. Lee, along with U.S. Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, were given a tour of the new Dallas facility after the ceremony.

The Texas Regional USPTO, is located at the Terminal Annex Federal Building. This regional office will assist entrepreneurs and innovators with the resources and IP protection required to compete and thrive in today’s global economy.

So many details come with the opening of a new business such as concerns over intellectual property rights, registering a name and logo that it is easy to become overwhelmed. This is especially true when you add the promotional strategies such as Variable Data printing and promotional Drinkware.

Back in July 2012, the USPTO announced it would be opening a regional office for each continental U.S. time zone on the occasion of the opening of the first office in Detroit, Michigan. In 2014, Denver was opened and San Jose, California opened last month. The Texas Regional office here in Dallas is the last office opening in the series.
