In May, Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar announced its goal of expanding to 100 location by 2019, and a recently signed deal has moved the chain closer to its goal.
The Dallas-based casual dining franchise has recently opened several new restaurants, as well as signing franchising papers with Jesus Ojeda and the local entrepreneurs with whom he partners. The deal is for two restaurants in El Paso, Texas. In the near future, Ojeda also hopes to develop additional locations in El Paso’s market and in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
This recent deal, according to a Full-Service Restaurant article, mirrors the company’s expansion in other areas of the U.S. such as Arizona, Maryland, Michigan, and Virginia. Currently, there are 29 locations scattered throughout 22 states. The company has also experienced rapid growth in Patio Santa Fe, Tuxtla, and Monterrey in Mexico.
Boston’s vigorous recent expansion can be credited to changes made to its business model over the last year. Often, when a company makes internal structural changes, it also makes changes to its image, such as overhauling its logo or instituting graphic design changes to its menu or interior design. Among the changes Boston’s made were the adoption of a new corporate team, increased support to franchisees, brand reimagining, and a menu overhaul.
Boston’s name for its campaign to build up to a total of 100 locations over the next three years is ‘Road to 100’.
