California sandwich concept on way to Dallas

Mendocino Farms is bringing its stacked sandwich idea to two new high-profile mixed-use centers in the Dallas area.

Mendocino Farms Sandwich Market has issued a press release announcing its plans to open a new location in the Uptown Dallas neighborhood of West Village, and another in the Legacy West district of Plano. The West Village location will be in the space where Lorna Jane, seller of workout wear, occupied until the pandemic forced all of its stores to close.

A married couple, Mario Del Pero and Ellen Chen, founded Mendocino Farms, which describes itself as a fun, upbeat, fast-paced gourmet sandwich shop known for its versions of sandwiches. The company received a strong boost from a Whole Foods investment in 2015. The chain has close to 40 locations in California, while Texas has five. Three of them are in Houston, with another one opening in December, one in Addison, and one in downtown Dallas.

The West Village Mendocino Farms Sandwich Market is slated to open in early Summer 2022 and in mid-summer a Legacy West location will open. The West Village and Legacy West shops openings will line up with the chain’s launch of new spring-summer menu selections, giving diners the opportunity to select from new dishes and the company’s classics.
