Referred to as “a brand-new way to ride with Uber”, the Avride robotaxi with the perimeter's sides being Downtown, Uptown, Turtle Creek and Deep Ellum. The company said it already has future plans for expansion of its operating territory.
The head person at Uber for autonomous mobility and delivery, Sarfraz Maredia explained:
“We’re excited to launch autonomous rides in Dallas with Avride, as we continue to build towards an increasingly electric and autonomous future. With the world’s largest hybrid network, we’re proving how AVs and drivers can work side by side to make transportation more convenient, sustainable, and affordable for people everywhere.”
Information on taxis and Ubers, both driver and driverless, is something local bars may consider conferring with Print shop to make available for their patrons.
State legislatures are scrambling to pass laws to address the issue of self-driving cars. In a letter last Spring, Texas Democrats asked Tesla to delay its introduction of robotaxis in Austin until a new Texas law went into effect in September.
The new autonomous taxis will be available for Uber customers selecting ride options that include Uber Comfort, UberX and Uber Comfort Electric. The company also reassured its customers that the accept or switch option for robotaxis will always be available.
