Toast to Life fundraiser a success

Recently, the Dallas Resource Center held its 21st Toast to Life fundraiser, which as per usual was a memorable event.

The Purple Foundation presented a 1920s-style bash entitled the Bootlegger’s Ball. Following the speakeasy theme, the ladies came dressed as flappers and were escorted by dapperly outfitted gentlemen.

This year’s event set a record for most ticket sales at 723, and raised $241,734 for the nonprofit Resource Center that lends support to the LGBTQ community and anyone affected by HIV. The Center endeavors to strengthen families, improve health, promote wellness, provide education, and serve as an advocate.

Fundraisers often find banner printing a useful promotional tool to increase the chances of a good turnout.

The event was emceed by Steve Kemble, a lifestyle specialist. The co-chairs for the Bootlegger’s Ball were Jim DiMarino and Brittanie Buchanan Oleniczak.

Attendees sipped cocktails from Hidden Stock Bourbon, Deep Ellum Vodka, and Zerbina Imports while perusing Neuville’s vintage-inspired jewelry, art, furniture, and pottery in preparation for the silent and live auctions. Available to go with their drinks, attendees also had the opportunity to sample a variety of finger foods.

Cameron Hernholm, the Chief Development Officer for the Resource Center, explained that this event is the Center’s biggest fundraiser for the year and has provided over $4m since it was set up in 1999.
