New Chinese noodle diner set to open

About eight miles north of Deep Ellum at The Hill, where US-75 and Walnut Hill Lane meet, a new eatery called Wok Star Chinese is opening.

David Romano, a well-known name in culinary and entrepreneur circles here in Dallas, is bringing a new restaurant focusing on modern-yet-authentic Chinese food. Wok Star will be where the Latin-American restaurant Nazca Kitchen was located until its closure in August last year.

Many printed materials such as Menus, invoices, employee handbooks, and the like are usually sourced from printing services before a new restaurant can open.

Romano’s resumé includes being a Romano Group developer and the founder of Eat Up Concepts. He has worked in the hospitality sector for many years and is a graduate of Cornell University.

He was quoted on Culturemap Dallas as saying:

"In America we've practically killed it (Chinese cuisine) with chains that are serving food that's not even Chinese anymore. But Wok Chinese will have chefs that are from China who are in charge. I didn't come up with a menu or recipe, they did."

On the menu the hand-pulled noodles and dumpling soup diners will share space with favorite Chinese selections such as kung pao chicken, General Tso’s chicken, and beef and broccoli.

Opening in phases, Wok Star has tentatively planned to commence take-out and delivery orders next week. When it will be fully operational depends on the city of Dallas and the permit process.
