This summer, Deep Ellum 100 has raised over $10,000 and is once again soliciting for coronavirus-related neighborhood aid after doling out four grants, each in the amount of $2,500, to steadfast, essential contributors to the neighborhood.
Deep Ellum 100 is asking those who are fans of the most culturally, significant neighborhood in Dallas, to open their pocketbooks once again. The 501(c)(3)-designated organization is looking to raise another $10,000 to once again be divided into four equal grants.
A banner printing service is often called upon when a nonprofit is attempting to raise money either by donations or via a fundraising event.
Once again, the grants will be presented to one each of these pillars of the communities: a bar, restaurant or another small independent enterprise; a worker in the service industry; a visual artist; and a musician or band.
All donors will receive a Leon McKenzie-designed T-shirt, regardless of which of the four donation levels the fall in. The T-Shirts pays homage to the neighborhood’s Black- and immigrant-built history and will also list those businesses that have toughed it out and are still in operation.
The Deep Ellum 100 will be accepting application through September 5. Those who have made donations will have the opportunity to be part of the selection process that determines which applicants in each of the four categories will receive $2,500.
