Hotel and restaurant soon to open in Deep Ellum

A building at the corner of Elm Street and Good Latimer, which used to house the Knights of Pythias temple, will soon open as the Kimpton Pittman Hotel and feature a public restaurant.

The new hotel’s restaurant, Elm + Good, will be under the direction of Graham Dodds and serve an upscale version of American farmhouse food. Dodds, who has a history with the Kimpton Hotel chain, has long been a proponent of using local produce, which is in line with the Kimpton’s wishes.

Among Dodds’ ideas for the restaurant include a return to the garden ‘charcuterie’, as well as one or two rabbit dishes and lots of vegetables.

Banner printing services are always ready to assist in creating a signage that both identifies and promotes a new establishment. Moreover, the sheer size of a banner increases its likelihood of being noticed.

The building that will soon open as the Kimpton Pittman was built in 1916 as a Knights of Pythias temple. It has been credited with being a key component in the evolution of Dallas’ blues music scene. Revitalizing this corner with a hotel of some sort has been planned for over a decade.

The Kimpton Pittman Hotel is expected to open in July and will integrate an outdoor bar and pool in an open-air oasis.
