A ceremony dedicating a new Dallas hospital took place at the end of last month.
The new Parkland Memorial Hospital was dedicated to Dallas County’s 2.5 million residents, and was kicked off by the Parkland Board of Managers chair, Debbie Branson. The hour-long ceremony focused on the 120-year history of Parkland, its historic service to people of Dallas County, and the future impact the hospital.
On hand in the immense cafeteria where the ceremony took place was Michael C. Burgess, a congressman and physician who took his training at Parkland. He extolled the new facility’s cutting-edge design and equipment to the 400 people in attendance.
Part of the ceremony involved video congratulations from former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, the former of whom is a Dallas resident.
A guest in spirit was Dr. Ron Anderson, a longtime leader at Parkland, who stepped down from his position as CEO in 2011. Dr. Anderson, who passed away in September of 2014, was referenced many times during the presentation. His widow, Sue Ann Anderson, was in attendance and toured the new Level 1 trauma center after the ceremony.
Built across the street from the old hospital, one item on the massive ‘to do’ list for the newly constructed hospital was to arrange with a Stationery printer for a change of address on hospital Print products.Get a Free Quote for Stationery Get a Free Quote for Print
