Virtual run to support Allen schools

The Holly Jolly Virtual Fun Run will be held in Allen this December to help raise funds for local schools.

The Holly Jolly Virtual Fun Run is an ongoing event where people can help support schools in their community while enjoying some exercise. Though it is non-competitive, athletes looking for a timed race can participate in the event’s competitive virtual 5K instead. Those who register for either activity before November 15 will receive commemorative Apparel from the organizers. Companies that host events like this can create images using Graphic Design Services to place onto T-Shirts and hats.

Each participant will need to answer some questions before completing their registration. Those who have children who go to an Allen or Lovejoy ISD School can enter their information to ensure the schools receive $5. The schools will also get money if the registered athlete is an employee at either institution. The funds will only be given to the schools from those who register for the event before Sunday, November 15th.

The virtual fun run and 5K will continue until Saturday, December 5. Participants have the freedom to get active on any date before this. The non-competitive event will cost $15 to enter, while the 5K can be entered for $25. Those who plan on joining the 5K must download the Runkeeper app and manually submit their results.
