Rugby to take over Allen

The Texas Rugby Union will be returning to Allen for its fifth annual Regional Development Summit, which will be hosted at the Courtyard Dallas Allen. This development summit will cover such topics as match officiating, coaching, and administration, and will also use the Allen High School team’s fields for practice.

The event will open with a Welcome Social, held at Kelly’s at the Village with drinks and appetizers from 7 to 9 pm. This portion of the event will be largely networking and socializing, rather than focusing on development.

Many of the courses will be offered on both Saturday and Sunday, allowing attendees to participate in more than one session. Classes vary in price from $50 to $300. Classes do fill up, and waitlists will be available.

This year will also see the continuation of Texas Rugby Union Hall of Fame inductions, which will be held at the hotel and will be black tie optional or semi-formal.

For those traveling to the summit from out of town, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Courtyard Dallas Allen. On-site parking is available as well during the event.

This type of event often uses printing services in order to have printed materials for attendees to take home. Registration for the events also includes drink tickets for the welcome social on Friday night, a t-shirt, and lunch on days registered. This event will run from Friday to Sunday, August 23 through 25.
